I got to know Bill during my three years at Go Fish Digital. As an HR person, I knew very little about the major players in the world of SEO and had no idea that Bill was a Big Deal. What Bill brought to my life had nothing to do with his life - it was all about living well.
Bill liked to take daily walks around Carlsbad, documenting the plants and flowers he encountered along the way. I admired how he found beauty in simple things, and I found myself increasingly awestruck by my own surroundings. I will never see the words "Meyer lemon" without thinking of Bill! He had a little lemon tree and would proudly share his bounty online when it produced fruit. He made me want to engage with the natural world and cultivate a little garden of my own. He loved traveling for work, and he cherished the friendships he forged with colleagues overseas. When he became eligible for a travel bonus after reaching a Go Fish service milestone, Bill and I hatched a plan for him to combine business with pleasure and extend his stay in Italy after SMXL. He was delighted! Bill took the opportunity to visit his ancestral home outside of Milan. After he suffered a stroke in December 2020, his sister kept us all informed about his progress. When he returned home, Bill remained in good spirits and was optimistic. He was always kind to me.
I am not an SEO. I don't fully understand what a featured snippet is. But I really appreciated Bill and how he lived his life.
